Ask, listen, respect
Being in the same room is not permission for contact, photographs or personal questions. Ask clearly and accept a refusal immediately. Consent can be withdrawn. Do not pressure someone who is hesitant, intoxicated or unable to understand you. Ask staff for help when a situation feels uncomfortable.
Keep the camera away until permitted
Check the venue’s phone and camera policy. Permission from a friend does not override a venue-wide ban or permit recording other guests. Mirrors, voices, tattoos and background details can identify people. Avoid live location posts and ask before tagging anyone.
Tell your own story
If you write about a visit, describe your own impressions without revealing another guest’s identity or private conversations. Do not publish a members-only address or entry procedure. A post being publicly visible does not automatically grant permission to copy its text or images.
